Privacy Policy

Overview

My Wine Lens is a personal wine journal. It is private by default: there are no social features, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. We never sell your data, and we only share it with the service providers described below, solely to make the app work.

Information We Collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address you choose to share through our sign-in service. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we receive your private relay address instead of your real one, and that works fine.
• Wine photos. Photos you take of wine labels, receipts, and shelves are uploaded so we can identify the wines, and are stored with your account.
• Journal entries. The wines you log, along with notes, ratings, tags, prices, dates, venue names, and the names of companions you choose to record.
• Location (optional). If you grant location access, your device location is used to suggest the venue for an entry. You can decline and type venues by hand.
• Agent conversations. If you chat with the My Wine Lens agent on Discord, we store your messages and Discord user ID so the agent can remember your conversations.

How We Use It

Your data is used to identify wines from your photos, keep your journal in sync across your devices, give you personalized recommendations based on wines you have logged, and let the agent remember what you have told it. Nothing else.

Service Providers

We use a small number of providers to run the service, acting only on our instructions:

• Google Cloud — hosting, storage of your photos and journal data, text recognition on label photos, and AI models used for wine identification.
• Anthropic — the AI model behind the conversational agent processes your agent messages.
• Discord — carries your conversations with the agent, subject to Discord's own privacy policy.

Storage & Retention

Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and retained for as long as you have an account. We keep it so your journal is always available to you; we delete it when you ask us to.

Your Rights

• Export. You can export all of your data at any time from the app's Settings screen. You own your data — there is no lock-in.
• Deletion. Email support@mywinelens.ai from your account email and we will delete your account and all associated data.
• Access & correction. You can view and edit your journal directly in the app, or contact us with any request about your data.

Children

My Wine Lens is about wine and is intended for people of legal drinking age. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be called out in the app.
